I remember it all as if it was yesterday. My childhood sweetheart who let me down so badly and left me for another man. It is difficult to describe, even now, over 20 years later, what I felt at the time. For a time I went round with a death wish at the back of my mind. I started drinking heavily and not caring less what became of me. This is the sad situation that inspired A Messy Affair.
